Product & Service Notification

At ETG, we understand that the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your data is vital to your business, and we take the protection of your data very seriously. Over the past few weeks, Salesforce has been sharing updates regarding their response to COVID-19 and reiterated their commitment to continue to deliver the highest levels of performance and availability. This includes continuing to take the necessary steps to provide the highest level of security for your accounts. See how we can help!

Securing Salesforce: Salesforce strongly encourages all customers with Commerce Cloud or any of the products built on our core platform to enable multi-factor authentication (also known as two-factor authentication). Multi-factor authentication (or MFA) is one of the simplest, most effective ways you can safeguard access to your Salesforce accounts. We also want to take this opportunity to let you know about our commitment to providing MFA for all other Salesforce products.

What is MFA?

Securing Salesforce: MFA is a secure authentication method that requires users to verify their identity by entering two or more pieces of evidence (or “factors”) when they log in. Possible factors include a code generated by an authentication app, a hardware security key, or even a biometric scan such as a fingerprint.

Why is MFA Important?

Securing Salesforce: MFA provides additional safeguards against common security threats like phishing attacks and account takeover. Especially in times of crisis, and as businesses are transitioning to a more remote workforce, it’s more important than ever to add extra protection against unauthorized login attempts.

While MFA may introduce a change for your business, we’ll be with you every step of the way. Salesforce is committed to establishing a balance between strong security and convenience through innovative technology and tools — including Salesforce Authenticator, which easily integrates into your login process.

What Action Can I Take Now?

Securing Salesforce: You can enable MFA at any time for products built on our core platform (including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, B2B Commerce, Community Cloud, and Einstein Analytics) and for Commerce Cloud. Details on MFA solutions for these products are available here:

  • For products built on our core platform, see Extra Security Made Easy with Salesforce Two-Factor Authentication.
  • For Commerce Cloud — see Migrate Users to Unified Authentication Via Account Manager and Pair Your Mobile with Account Manager in the Salesforce Commerce Cloud Infocenter.

We’re hard at work developing MFA functionality for all our other Salesforce products. You can expect to hear from us as this support becomes available.
